This was my very enjoyable stay in the winter time. The place was overall clean with very helpful and amazingly attentive staff members. Location: the hotel was close enough to sightseeing, restaurants, Kyoto for two nights, and another garden with artificial waterfall.
There was parking missing.

Beautiful building and rooms with a tv. Rural area, central location near the good restaurants, old Kyoto and the train station, which is about a 10 minute by car ride.
No parking lot at all.

Could not imagine coming to Japan and not experiencing a night at a traditional ryokan with traditional kaiseki dinner and breakfast. Definitely one of the highlights of visiting Kyoto!! Japanese hospitality is hands down the best I've ever experienced from all my travels around the world...and the staff at Yuzuya was a great example of that. Very helpful and attentive to all your needs. The food served at their restaurant was more than food, it was pure art!! Unforgettable.

All the staff were very attentive and thoughtful. Japanese-style room with a TV was ready when I arrived. - Very central location right by an artificial waterfall, the local bakery, and Downtown.

I really enjoy the service, and their attention to details. The meals are especially enjoyable. If you don't want to spend on dinner, because of the prices, the japanese style breakfast is recommended, as it gives you a taste of their wonderful food.

Right in the Gion district, clean and quiet. Nice decoration.
Dinner is too expensive. The slippers were one size fits all. I was never comfortable with the slippers... Maybe it's because my foot is a size 42 and the slipper were a 37. No Wi-fi in the bedrooms. Didn't feel close to no one in the hotel, so I didn't really got any experience from sleeping in a Ryokan, it just felt like a normal hotel. Didn't really fell that I got a good value for money, and at the end I got another 10% over the bookings.com price. I would not recommend, or stay at this Ryokan again.

Great common areas, staff was great and breakfast was fantastic. Location was amazing, Gion area of Kyoto was a great surprise.
Price, Value. I travel a lot and rarely pay over $500 usd a night. I understood that I was getting "japanese style" but this was in no way worth the money.
